Go Media is supporting the highly anticipated programme launch of ‘Heavyweight with Dave Letele’, with an extensive suite of Out of Home assets across the nation.

Dave Letele, the driving force behind Heavyweight, expressed his gratitude for Go Media’s invaluable partnership in bringing this project to life.

“Go Media has been amazing in their support of this project.  It is important to us that voices from the community are heard, that we shine a light on stories that might not otherwise be told.  We have great value alignment there and Go Media has been key to this, providing an immediate sense of scale in the lead up.  We can’t thank them enough.”

Go Media’s commitment to uplifting and amplifying voices within the community aligns perfectly with the core values of ‘Heavyweight with Dave Letele’.

Go Media Director, Andrea Rongonui says: “As a Māori owned business, Go Media takes immense pride in supporting initiatives that promote cultural awareness, inclusivity, and the celebration of unique stories and experiences within the community.  We’re proud to support Dave with the launch of his show”.

With this new television project, Letele set out to engage in real, honest, and often uncomfortable conversations to offer a reality check on pressing issues our country faces today. The premiere episode focuses on the impact of alcohol and addiction and highly acclaimed Advertising Executive Kate Smith has generously shared her story, alongside other guests including ex All Black Zac Guildford.

Director Ant Farac (ex MediaWorks, Bro’Town) has worked alongside Director Tuki Laumea to bring this project to fruition, supported by Producer Mario Gaoa (Naked Samoans, Bro’Town) and Executive Producers Dave Letele (BBM), Amanda Wilson (These Guys I Know), Kelly Martin (South Pacific Pictures).

“There are many issues that we face in New Zealand right now. There are heavy conversations to be had. Whilst these topics are heavy, I hope this show is seen as a story of hope,” says Letele.

‘Heavyweight with Dave Letele’ premieres Thursday 3 August, 8.30pm on TVNZ 2 and TVNZ+
